Frequently Asked Questions
We hope to make it easier by providing answers to frequently asked questions regarding payment.
Still need help? If you're unsure whether your insurance offers out-of-network benefits, we're happy to point you in the right direction and explain what information you'll need before your first visit. While we can't verify benefits or guarantee reimbursement, we want to make the process as smooth as possible.
-
Payment is preferred at the time of your appointment. If you're unable to pay at the time of service, we're happy to provide a secure electronic invoice that can be paid online at your convenience.
-
At this time, Belly & Mind is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. This allows us to focus on providing highly individualized, collaborative care without the restrictions or limitations often required by insurance companies.
-
Possibly! Many PPO plans offer out-of-network benefits that may reimburse you for a portion of your visit.
While we cannot guarantee reimbursement, we encourage you to contact your insurance company to learn about your out-of-network coverage before your appointment.
-
Every insurance plan is different. We recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card and asking:
Do I have out-of-network benefits for speech therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition services, or physician visits?
What is my out-of-network deductible?
What percentage of services will be reimbursed after my deductible is met?
Is a referral or prior authorization required?
Are there any visit limits?
-
A superbill is a detailed receipt for the services your child receives at Belly & Mind. It includes the information your insurance company typically needs to process an out-of-network reimbursement request, such as diagnosis codes, procedure (billing) codes, provider information, and the amount you paid.
While we do not bill insurance directly, many families with PPO plans use superbills to seek reimbursement for eligible services.
-
Yes! Upon request, we're happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. You are responsible for submitting superbills directly to your insurance company.
